League Age Changes for 2026/27
Cal North is changing league ages.
In years past, we would use birth year to determine league age, which affects the division your players go into. With Cal North’s change for the 2026-27 season, league age more closely aligns with school years. The age of a player before Aug 1 of the starting year will be their league age.
Here’s an easy way to figure it out. Ask yourself,
How old is my player by August of the season’s starting year?
For example, this year’s season starts in 2026. For a player born March 1, 2015:
- How old will she be on Aug 1, 2026? 11.
(She turned 11 on March 1, she’ll still be 11 in Aug.) - Therefore, she’s league age 11, and fits into an Under 12 division.
